Planning Before Production
We look at access, utilities, ground conditions, drainage, traffic, nearby structures, pedestrians, pets, residents, and site constraints before work begins.

NorTerra Safety Culture
From residential yards to commercial properties, industrial facilities, and agricultural sites, NorTerra treats safety as a core part of the job — not an afterthought.
The NorTerra Standard
NorTerra was built around a simple promise: solve property problems professionally and leave every site better than we found it. That includes the finished work, the cleanup, the communication, and the way the job is controlled from start to finish.
Safety matters because our work happens around real people, real homes, active businesses, managed properties, farms, roads, utilities, equipment, and changing ground conditions. A clean, organized, well-planned job is safer, more efficient, and produces a better result.
The safest job is the job done right. Planning, communication, awareness, and respect for the property help make every project safer for workers, clients, residents, visitors, neighbours, and the public.
How We Work
We look at access, utilities, ground conditions, drainage, traffic, nearby structures, pedestrians, pets, residents, and site constraints before work begins.
Good communication prevents problems. We keep clients and site contacts informed so everyone understands the work area, schedule, hazards, and next steps.
Organized work areas reduce risk. We focus on clean staging, controlled material handling, responsible debris removal, and safe access around the work zone.
Using properly sized equipment matters. Compact machines, tight-access loaders, excavators, breakers, buckets, and attachments are selected to fit the site safely and efficiently.
Site Safety Standards
Excavation & Demolition
Excavation, trenching, drainage work, concrete removal, asphalt demolition, and structure demolition all come with real risk. NorTerra approaches these jobs with attention to utilities, access, machine positioning, spoil placement, ground stability, nearby structures, and the people moving around the site.
Whether we are replacing a catch basin at a commercial property, removing concrete at an apartment complex, preparing a driveway, or restoring a residential yard, our goal is to control the work area and complete the job without unnecessary damage or disruption.
Residential • Commercial • Industrial • Agricultural
We work around families, pets, neighbours, driveways, lawns, fences, pools, and tight spaces. The goal is to complete the work professionally while protecting the home and minimizing disruption.
For apartments, retirement communities, plazas, and managed properties, we plan around residents, visitors, tenants, access routes, work hours, and property operations.
Industrial sites require attention to site access, equipment movement, production areas, loading zones, concrete pads, hauling, and coordination with facility staff.
Farm and rural work can involve laneways, culverts, drainage, soft ground, uneven terrain, livestock areas, equipment yards, and large open work zones that require careful planning.
Training & Experience
NorTerra brings a working background in excavation, equipment operation, heavy equipment environments, trucking, utility awareness, and property work. That experience shapes how we plan, communicate, operate equipment, and control the jobsite.
Available training and experience may include Ground Disturbance, WHMIS, First Aid, TDG, H2S, professional driving and equipment operation experience, depending on project requirements and crew assignment.
